Today was one of the hardest days of my life. I had to say goodbye to the dearest friend I’ve ever known.
For nearly fifteen years, Chewbacca – or ‘Chewy’ – was my little buddy, my best friend, and my brother. He made me a better person, and showed me more love and friendship than I ever thought possible.

Chewy touched the lives of everyone who met him. To know him was to love him, and he lived everybody. He helped me overcome fears, comforted me through hard times, and brought joy to my life each and every day.
He may have been a dog, but he made me a better human being. In so many ways, Chewy was the best person I know.
I can never thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me, my little buddy. I miss you more than I could ever express.
I’ll always love you, my little Chewy.

Born of cold and winter air and mountain rain combining, the man called Scott is an ancient sorcerer from a long-forgotten realm. He’s more machine now than man, twisted and evil.
Or, you know, he could just be some guy who loves video games, animations and cinema who just wanted to write about such things.

Awww buddy… sorry to hear about Chewy. My greatest hope and prayer for you is healing and an overwhelming greatfulness that you were blessed with a dear friend. Passing is never easy to accept, you have my support in whatever ways you choose to utilize it.
Thanks for sharing your heart.

I don’t think there’s much I can say besides the usual sorry for your loss, pets are family, and given their shorter lifespan, it’s even harder to accept when they leave us as it feels like it’s too soon. I’ve had a similar situation earlier this year and I wasn’t prepared to grieve again despite having gone through this very situation a number of times already.
I don’t think the pain ever fully goes away, but the best you can do is believe you gave your friend the best life possible and they were as happy as they could be and reminiscence on the many memories you’ve built upon with them. And not to push what are my personal spiritual beliefs, but I’m sure Chewy is resting happily wherever the afterlife takes us.
